Throughout 17 counties in California and Nevada, candidates completed policy questionnaires and interviewed with PPAMM staff and board members. In the 2022 General Election, this resulted in 101 endorsed candidates in races for state Senate, Assembly, District Attorney, County Sheriff, County Supervisor (CA) or County Commission (NV), Mayor, City Council, and School Board.

Between redistricting, term limits and retirements, many of our races were competitive this year. Ballots are still being counted. Democracy takes time. From where we stand today, 74% of endorsed candidates are winning. And we couldn’t have done it without you.

We knew our races would be close. Coming out of the Primary, many of our candidates won or lost by under 100 votes. We also knew voters who don’t regularly vote were motivated this year by the loss of their basic right to bodily autonomy. Our social media campaign, filmed by six volunteers, was designed to reach this very audience. Every vote counts and we have winning candidates with the tightest of margins.

Now and always, compassionate, non-judgmental medical experts at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte health centers across California and Nevada are there to provide a full range of sexual and reproductive health care — including services like birth control, STI-testing and treatment, cancer screenings, and abortion. To continue to protect this care in every corner of the affiliate, our work for 2024 has already begun.
