Nebraska’s 2022 legislative session starts today and we’ve already begun the proactive fight for essential rights.

Yesterday, we joined coalition partners and Senator Megan Hunt to kick off legislative session by announcing new efforts to expand access to abortion care in the 2022 session. This coalition work and the support of our legislative champions is crucial. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to decide on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization this June. Abortion rights will be determined at the state level should they overturn or erode the federal right to abortion established by Roe v. Wade.

Abortion is health care and Nebraskans should be able to access the care they need without barriers. Your advocacy in the coming months will ensure the fundamental reproductive freedom of future Nebraskans.

That’s not all. We’re also supporting other important issues this session and the work of our partners in the community. We encourage you to follow the people and organizations below to get updates on efforts to protect civil rights, eliminate police violence, promote maternal health, fight discrimination, and create an equitable Nebraska.
