Planned Parenthood Action Fund Endorses Nebraska Pro-Reproductive Rights Candidates in Federal Races
Omaha, NE—Planned Parenthood Action Fund today announced support for Nebraska pro-reproductive rights champions Patty Pansing Brooks and Tony Vargas, both of whom are Democratic candidates in Congressional races.
Pansing Brooks, currently a state senator, is running against Republican Mike Flood in a June 28 special election to represent Nebraska’s First Congressional District after U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry resigned. Tony Vargas, who is also a state senator, is running in the November election for Nebraska’s Second Congressional District. Both endorsed candidates have fought tirelessly to protect and expand Nebraskans’ reproductive rights and health care and cast key votes in defeating a trigger law that would have banned all abortion.
“We know that state senators Pansing Brooks and Vargas will stand for Nebraskans and do everything possible to protect and advance our reproductive rights and freedoms at the federal level, and that’s something that Nebraskans need now more than ever,” said Andi Curry Grubb, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Nebraska. “There is so much work to be done and we’re at such a pivotal moment in our nation’s history when it comes to a person’s fundamental right to decide when and how they start a family. We need champions who will stand with us in this crucial fight.”
