The reception and remarks will take place on the outdoor patio, which is ADA accessible. Limited seating and plenty of standing room will be available. There are limited ADA parking spaces available nearest the event space.

Ashlei Spivey (she/her) is a bold visionary that works to create just communities. She is founder and Executive Director of I Be Black Girl, a collective that supports Black women, femmes and girls to live wholly, which has had outsized impact since inception like investing over $3M back into community. In 2025, she was sworn into the Nebraska State Body as the representative for District 13, and the 4th Black woman to serve in the history of the legislature. In 2023, she was chosen as a J.M. Kaplan Innovation Prize Awardee, where she is one of 10 leaders selected out of 3200 for her innovative approach to reproductive justice and in 2024, she was named USA Today’s Woman of the Year for Nebraska.
