COLUMBUS, OH — It is a pleasure to announce that Lauren Blauvelt-Copelin has been named Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio’s (PPGOH) Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Advocacy effective February 11, 2019.

Mrs. Blauvelt-Copelin has worked in the Planned Parenthood family for over eight years, beginning in 2010 as the coordinator in the Health Center Advocacy Program at Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Region. She then served as the Regional Field Manager in Southwest Ohio before joining Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio/Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio as the State Field Director beginning in 2015. Most recently, she worked in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes in the 2016 campaign. Statement from Iris E. Harvey, President and CEO, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio:

“Lauren’s commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission and advocacy work, combined with her strong knowledge of field organizing, electoral work, as well as her legislative prowess, make her the ideal candidate for our organization’s critical time of change.”

The Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Advocacy is responsible for oversight and supervision of PPGOH’s overall government relations advocacy efforts and outreach initiatives in the communities they serve. The position is also responsible for the supervision of Public Affairs and the State Field Organization in their efforts to promote reproductive rights and sexual health issues.
