Sacramento – Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC) CEO Jodi Hicks issued the following statement in response to news that longtime California political operative would join Newsom Administration:

“On behalf of the seven Planned Parenthood affiliates, PPAC extends a heartfelt congratulations to Jim DeBoo as he joins the Newsom Administration. DeBoo’s decades-long history as a top tier political operative positions him as a natural addition to the horseshoe.

“DeBoo’s leadership managing the Proposition 56 initiative (2016) has been instrumental in ensuring millions of Californians have access to equitable health care and has been critical in providing high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health to Californians. Personally, I’ve had the privilege to work with DeBoo across issue areas for many years and look forward to for underserved communities who rely upon safety-net providers like Planned Parenthood.”

Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC) is the statewide public affairs and public policy office representing California’s seven separately incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates. Through advocacy and political action, PPAC promotes policy in areas of sexual and reproductive health care and sex education.
