SACRAMENTO — Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC) released the following statement from President and CEO Jodi Hicks regarding Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed budget:

“Planned Parenthood thanks Governor Newsom for his continued commitment to reproductive health care in his proposed budget. In the face of ongoing attacks on reproductive freedom, Governor Newsom makes it clear that California remains a state committed to patients and providers, as well as those who are forced to seek care here. This budget maintains investments important to achieving health equity and reflects our values in ensuring people have access to quality, affordable health care. We particularly want to applaud the continued funding for Medi-Cal that serves to increase access for the millions of Californians who rely on it, including undocumented people.”
