SACRAMENTO – Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC) released the following statement from President and CEO Jodi Hicks on Senate Republicans introducing a national abortion ban:

“A national abortion ban was always the goal for extreme politicians pushing their own personal political agendas now that Roe v Wade is overturned.

“As Senate Republicans show people just how extreme and dangerous their policies are, California is showing the nation what is possible when we center people, access, and equity as a historic bill package protecting and expanding abortion care awaits Governor Gavin Newsom’s signature.

“It is essential California leaders continue to take action and present proactive solutions during this time of national crisis. We look forward to continuing to partner with policymakers at every level to safeguard and expand abortion care.”
