January 22nd, 2023 marks the first year we won’t be celebrating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade since the landmark decision was announced in 1973. We should be celebrating the 50th anniversary of nationwide abortion rights; instead, our country is confronting a stark reality in which younger generations have fewer rights than the last and one in three Americans no longer have the right to safe, legal abortion in their home state.
Anti-abortion forces want us to succumb to despair and darkness. But the fight for reproductive rights burns brighter than ever. Without Roe, we have the opportunity and responsibility to design the most equitable future for abortion access we can imagine.
It's on us to keep fighting — because that's who we are and who we must be. We are fighters. And we are not alone.
ACTION 1: Light a candle to show the fight for abortion rights is still burning
Let’s show the brightness of our solidarity and light the path forward. Put a candle in your window on Sunday, January 22 to mark what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe and remind the world that the fight for reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy burns bright. Snap a pic of your candle lit window and share it on Instagram with #FightForReproRightsIsBright #BiggerThanRoe. Graphics here.
ACTION 2: Take the Pledge to Fight for Abortion Rights in 2023!
On the heels of New Hampshire's first abortion ban in modern history and the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, anti-abortion lawmakers are already working to further dismantle access to reproductive health care in New Hampshire. We need you to join the fight for abortion rights in 2023 - sign our petition today to take a stand!
ACTION 3: Contact your legislator
Contact your *newly elected* legislators to introduce yourself and share why you care about reproductive rights.
