“Today New York City voters made it clear they demand progressive leadership that will stand up for their communities and fight for sexual and reproductive health and rights”

NEW YORK – Planned Parenthood NYC Votes PAC congratulates candidates endorsed by Planned Parenthood Empire State Votes PAC, in partnership with Planned Parenthood NYC Votes PAC, who saw sweeping victories in their primary elections on Thursday.

“Today New York City voters made it clear they demand progressive leadership that will stand up for their communities and fight for sexual and reproductive health and rights," said Laura McQuade, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood NYC Votes PAC. “Now more than ever, with Kavanaugh’s confirmation looming, we need elected officials in Albany who understand that sexual and reproductive freedom is a right, not a privilege. We need political leadership that will fight to make New York the progressive beacon it should be - and with tonight’s primary, we’re closer than we’ve been in years.”

PPNYC Votes PAC congratulates:

Governor: Andrew Cuomo

Lieutenant Governor: Kathy Hochul

New York State Senate: Alessandra Biaggi, Robert Jackson, Zellnor Myrie and Jessica Ramos

New York Assembly: Harvey Epstein

“Planned Parenthood Empire State Votes PAC and Planned Parenthood NYC Votes PAC endorsed a slate of candidates who not only understand the importance of sexual and reproductive health and rights, but who also see the intersections of these issues with housing, economic justice, LGBTQ rights, education, and immigration rights,” said McQuade. “It’s clear that New Yorkers are ready for change, and are choosing leaders in Albany to fight for them and their ability to access important health services, and all the resources they need and deserve. Together, we can build a New York that is at the forefront of progressive legislation that recognizes the rights of all people to make their own decisions about their bodies, futures, and health.”
