GEORGIA —Today, Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates announces additional candidate endorsements for the November 8th Midterm Election. PPSEA proudly supports the following candidates who have stood firm in their resolve to fight for sexual and reproductive freedom in one of the most hostile states for abortion rights and access. With so much on the line, our state’s Legislature must be led by those who will put politics aside and represent the interest of the people of Georgia.

Statement from Candace Fowler, Board Chair, Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates:

“The stakes could not be higher this November'', says Candace Fowler, Board Chair of Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates. “At a time when right-wing extremists are attacking reproductive rights like never before, Georgia needs champions who will do the work to fortify access to sexual and reproductive health care and protect bodily autonomy. We know, without a doubt, that these candidates, if elected, will bring the full strength of their support to this fight. We are proud to stand behind each one of these candidates to do what’s required to protect abortion rights and everyone’s ability to access essential health care”.

Statement from Charlie Bailey, Candidate for Lieutenant Governor:

"I'm proud to have the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates. Georgia's extreme abortion measures must be reversed, and we must codify Roe v. Wade into law to protect the fundamental right to bodily autonomy."

Statement from William Boddie, Candidate for Labor Commissioner:

"A woman's right to choose should remain her right and not the government's. As Georgia's next Labor Commissioner, I will not only protect a woman's right to choose, but I will also ensure that she and any person who has to have a medical procedure has paid medical leave."

As the organizing, advocacy, and electoral arm of Planned Parenthood Southeast, Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates (PPSEA) engages in electoral activities including voter education and mobilization. We believe elected officials should support policies and programs that help women and their families make responsible choices about the prevention of unintended pregnancies and plan for healthy families. PPSEA works to educate and mobilize the public and elect lawmakers who support these policies.
