We will never stop fighting for patient rights.

Planned Parenthood health centers save lives. President Trump and his backers in Congress don’t care. “Defunding” Planned Parenthood means cancers go undetected, STIs go untreated, and people struggle to get basic health care. That's why we won't back down and will never stop fighting for patient rights. Are you with us?

We need you to contact Governor Lamont and your state Senator and Representative, urging them to call a special session and protect access to care for Planned Parenthood patients in Connecticut.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut will never give in to those who want to tell people what to do with their bodies and lives. President Trump and his backers in Congress might think they’ve won, but we have news for them: the fight is just beginning. The 19 million Planned Parenthood supporters across the country, and the one in three women across the country who have been to Planned Parenthood health centers for care, will never stop working to win back their reproductive freedom. Together, no matter how many times politicians try to stop us, we will build the health care system that we all deserve. No matter what.

We Persist

Planned Parenthood and the movement for reproductive health and rights have outlasted countless presidential administrations and political careers. Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut has always been relentless in the face of continuous attacks. Politicians “defunding” Planned Parenthood will change how some people get care, but it doesn’t change who we are: a movement dedicated to protecting and expanding access to the care and information people need to build their futures.

Letter to the Editor Tips

Need inspiration for your letter to the editor? We're here to help! Here are our quick tips:

  • Keep it short and address only one subject. Many newspapers have strict limits on the length of letters and have limited space to publish them. Review the paper’s guidance in advance. Keeping your letter brief will help ensure that your important points are not cut out by the newspaper. Letters are usually 150-175 words.
  • Send letters to weekly community newspapers. The smaller the newspaper's circulation, the easier it is to get your letter printed.
  • Be sure to include your contact information. Many newspapers will only print a letter to the editor after calling the author to verify his or her identity and address. Newspapers will not give out that information, and will usually only print your name and city should your letter be published.
  • Make references to previous articles in the newspaper. While some papers print general commentary, many will only print letters that refer to a specific article.
