Kai Belton has pledged to fight for reproductive freedom and defend Planned Parenthood patients as abortion access is under constant attack in America

New Haven, CT (February 14, 2023) — Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut proudly announces the endorsement of Kai Belton, Democratic candidate for State Representative running in the special election in House District 100 to be held on Tuesday, February 28. Belton has pledged to fight for reproductive freedom and protect abortion access.

As politicians across the country continue to attack abortion and strip away people’s most fundamental freedoms, it is critical we elect champions who will defend Planned Parenthood patients and protect our rights, our health, and our values.

Statement from Gretchen Raffa, Vice President, Public Policy, Advocacy, and Organizing, Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut:

“We have seen what happens in statehouses across the country when politicians conspire to strip away our most basic freedoms and eliminate abortion access. We won’t let it happen in Connecticut — we must elect leaders who will protect and expand our right to abortion and ensure every person can access the sexual and reproductive health care they need and deserve.

“Kai Belton is a powerful voice for reproductive freedom and a champion for Planned Parenthood patients. If elected, she will defend abortion access, work to make health care more affordable and accessible, and demand equity for all Connecticut residents. On February 28, Middletown voters can honor the memory of our friend, Rep. Quentin “Q” Williams, by electing Kai Belton to continue his fight for social and reproductive justice in the General Assembly.”
