In the midst of climate change chaos and fighting for a clean DREAM Act, Congress is trying to pass Trumpcare 3.0 in the next 10 days.

That’s 10 days without the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score before the vote deadline, but just enough time for political pundits to parse out all of the terrible things this bill will do if it passes.

Also known as the Graham-Cassidy bill, Trumpcare 3.0 is branded as a “new” version of an attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, but every version of Trumpcare, including this one, has been devastating to women. Here’s what we know:

  • It blocks women from going to Planned Parenthood for preventive care such as birth control, STI testing and treatment and lifesaving cancer screenings.

  • Guts Medicaid, resulting in millions of people losing coverage.

  • Allows states to get rid of essential health benefits, charging people with preexisting conditions even more for insurance.

What’s more, this bill will disproportionately affect low income people, women of color and communities that already face innumerable barriers to care.

Earlier this year Planned Parenthood was instrumental in defeating previous versions of Trumpcare, and similarly we’re not backing down from this bill without a fight.

Congress only needs 51 votes (instead of the usual 60) to pass this devastating bill, and I’m asking you to call Senator Shelley Moore Capito (WV) to protect health care for all people — no matter what. No matter if she’s your state senator, Capito is crucial in deciding next week’s vote and how your state could be impacted by this bill.

Contact Senator Capito NOW — and everyday until the vote — to demand she vote NO on Trumpcare 3.0 and protect access to affordable and reliable health care.

  • Call her at 202-224-6472.

  • Tweet @SenCapito and share why you stand with Planned Parenthood and the millions of people who rely on access to affordable health care.

  • If you have more time, email your comments about the bill here until Monday, September 25, at 1 p.m.
