The COVID-19 Vaccine
What’s the COVID-19 vaccine?
COVID-19 vaccines are shots that can protect you against COVID-19, and prevent serious illness and death from COVID-19. The vaccine also lowers your chances of spreading COVID-19 to others. Everyone 12 years of age and older is eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. All vaccines available in the U.S. have been carefully tested and proven to be safe and effective. The sooner more people can get vaccinated, the sooner more people will be protected from COVID-19 and the sooner the pandemic will end.
How do I get the COVID-19 vaccine?
You can get a COVID-19 vaccine at many doctors’ offices, pharmacies/drug stores, hospitals, community health centers, and government-run sites. You may have to make an appointment, but some places offer walk-ins. The CDC has more information about how to find COVID-19 vaccines near you.
