Juneteenth
Juneteenth is an important anniversary celebrating the end of slavery in the United States on June 19,1865 and the decades of Black resistance and excellence before and since that critical moment in American history.
This year, Juneteenth comes during a moment when millions of people across the country are jointly proclaiming that racism is a public health crisis and it must be addressed. You have taken action online and in the streets, protesting violence against Black people and institutionalized racism in our country.
Juneteenth is an opportunity to reflect on the work that’s been championed by the Black community and the work we as a country have left to do. Juneteenth is an opportunity to respect Black lives, to honor Black freedom, and celebrate Black resistance. To our Black supporters, colleagues, and the Black community whose lives, health, and safety are constantly under attack, Planned Parenthood stands with you.
