San Diego, CA - Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest (PPAFPSW) announced its full list of endorsements and ratings for various 2022 primary elections in California. PPAFPSW rates and endorses candidates for public office who will champion reproductive rights, access to sexual and reproductive health care, and comprehensive sexual education.

Below is a statement from Darrah DiGiorgio Johnson, President & CEO of Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest:

“Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest is proud to endorse or rate these candidates ahead of their upcoming primary elections. At a time when reproductive health and rights are under attack, it is more important than ever that we vote for candidates who have a demonstrated record and who will work to expand access to reproductive health care. We are confident that these candidates will work hard to create a world where every person has the opportunity to choose their own path to a healthy and meaningful life.”

All candidates go through a rigorous endorsement process and must meet specific criteria to be considered for an endorsement or 100% rating from Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest. To be considered for endorsement by PPAFPSW, an incumbent, challenger, appointee, or candidate must support positions in line with PPAFPSW's mission and values; achieve a 100 percent score on candidate questionnaires and legislative scorecards, as applicable; and be a viable candidate. Candidates are also asked about their stances on a variety of intersecting issues such as transgender and LGBTQ+ rights, policing, immigration, combating white supremacy, and more.
