Arizona for Abortion Access

Arizona for Abortion Access is a coalition of reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations working to ensure Arizonans can make the decisions that are best for them and their families — free from government interference. This ballot committee is supported by the ACLU of Arizona, Affirm Sexual and Reproductive Health, Arizona List, Healthcare Rising Arizona, NARAL Arizona, and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona. Together, we represent hundreds of thousands of Arizonans in every community and from every walk of life.

We've worked closely with these partners to protect and expand abortion access over the years. We have now partnered to begin collecting signatures to place a constitutional amendment on the November 2024 ballot in Arizona. This amendment will protect abortion access in Arizona and ensure every person can make this deeply personal decision with dignity.

In the state of Arizona, a ballot initiative for a constitutional amendment typically requires gathering a specified number of valid signatures from registered voters to qualify for inclusion on the ballot. For this initative to appear on the November 2024 ballot in Arizona we will need to collect a minimum of 383,923 valid signatures from registered Arizona voters.

Timeline

08.08.2023 - Filed proposed language for a constitutional amendment with the Arizona secretary of state’s office.

09.09.2023 - Recieve approved language from legislative council and make recommended adjustments.

09.12.2023  - Offically file with the Arizona secretary of state’s office.

09.21.2023 - Signature collection kick-off.

10.12.2023 - PPAA's Fight for All Luncheon, featuring special guest Alexis McGill Johnson.

07.03.2024 - Deadline to collect a minimum of 383,923 valid signatures.
