Planned Parenthood Great Rivers Action (formerly Advocates of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri) is not just taking action to achieve reproductive freedom in the greater St. Louis area and Missouri Ozarks, but throughout the region. Like the rivers that run through our region and beyond, we are committed to fighting with and for people near and far who believe in a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. No matter what.

    Missourians voted to end Missouri’s total abortion ban. What’s next?

    In November 2024, Missouri voters passed Amendment 3, the Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative — officially rejecting Missouri’s total abortion ban and enshrining the right to abortion, birth control, respectful birthing conditions, and more in the Missouri Constitution.

    As of May 27, 2025, the Missouri Supreme Court ordered the Jackson County  judge who allowed Planned Parenthood to provide procedural abortion in Missouri to take another look at her decision. This effectively reinstated Missouri’s abortion ban and means that abortion is temporarily unavailable in the state.

    Patients can still access abortion in Illinois at Planned Parenthood Great Rivers’ Fairview Heights, IL, health center.
