Legislative Center

As part of protecting and advancing Missourians' reproductive freedom, we engage with the Missouri Legislature.

We mobilize supporters across the state to engage with their representatives online, at the Capitol, and in their communities about bills that impact reproductive freedom and Planned Parenthood patients' lives.

2022 Missouri Legislative Session

Learn about bills that would impact Missourians' reproductive freedom, as well as bills that would impact Planned Parenthood patients more broadly in our 2022 Bill Summary and from our fact sheets, posted below.

Blocking Patients from Health Care By “Defunding” Planned Parenthood

In the midst of a global pandemic, politicians are attacking Planned Parenthood patients, and jeopardizing federal funding for Missouri’s entire Medicaid program. House Bill 1854, like every other “defund” bill, blocks patients’ access to Planned Parenthood health centers.

It will not improve Missourians’ health — in fact, it will only make things worse. No matter how you word it, blocking access to Planned Parenthood is unpopular.

Report: Missouri's safety net cannot serve patients without Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is a crucial component of the health care safety net — but some lawmakers are working to discriminate against Planned Parenthood patients and block them from getting preventive care at Planned Parenthood health centers.

Preventing Missourians from choosing Planned Parenthood leaves many without access to vital preventive care, including birth control, cancer screenings, and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment.

Missouri's health care safety net needs more resources — not fewer providers.
