Deb Andraca is running to defeat an incumbent who has voted time and time again to limit access to healthcare, including birth control and abortion care. She believes a woman should be allowed to make her own decisions about her body, in consultation with her family and her doctor.

What's At Stake on November 3rd:

In a year where everything seems uncertain, voting for leaders that protect access to health care, racial justice, and strengthening our communities is so important. Wisconsin families and communities supported one another as we’ve faced countless challenges due to COVID-19. We need lawmakers who work together to help us rebuild. State lawmakers also make vital decisions regarding community services that directly affects the lives of our Black, Native, and POC neighbors. On November 3, amid a pandemic, there’s a lot at stake. We need leaders with vision for a strong and healthy Wisconsin in the state Assembly and state Senate.

Criminal Abortion Ban

With the passing of Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, our rights, freedoms, and health care are on the line now more than ever. For the sake of Justice Ginsburg’s legacy, we need to preserve the ideals she spent her life defending.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned – regardless of circumstance – abortion will immediately become a crime in Wisconsin due to a law on the books that pre-dates the Roe decision. Our state lawmakers could work to repeal this law and make sure women in Wisconsin are still able to access abortion care.

With the future of Roe v. Wade more uncertain than ever, we need state lawmakers who work to make sure our state's laws will protect access to abortion care regardless of who is on the Supreme Court.

Expanding Health Care Access

All Wisconsinites need health care that is compassionate, comprehensive, and unbiased. And our elected officials can support policies that ensure Wisconsinites are able to access high-quality, affordable health care.

Policies like the "Healthy Women, Healthy Babies" initiative that invests in women's health by prioritizing access to preventive reproductive health care, programs that facilitate healthy pregnancies and births, and eliminating racial disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.

Protections for people with pre-existing conditions have saved lives and livelihoods. We can elect leaders who share our values and understand that health care is a right, not a privilege, and work to expand health care access statewide and strengthen protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

Funding for Planned Parenthood

For years, politicians in our state legislature and in Congress have attacked Planned Parenthood’s patients’ access to health care.

When politicians talk about “defunding” Planned Parenthood, they really mean blocking patients who depend on public health care funds from getting their care at Planned Parenthood health centers. Many of these patients are people with low incomes who don’t have health insurance, or who rely on public health care funding like Medicaid.

Attempts to block these patients from getting care at Planned Parenthood keeps them from getting critical preventive services, like birth control, lifesaving cancer screenings, and STD testing and treatment.

This is why Wisconsinites must elect leaders who prioritize health care on November 3rd.

We need lawmakers who trust a woman to make her own health care decisions, protect health care coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, and work to restore funding to Planned Parenthood. We also need lawmakers who act on injustice to ensure that all Wisconsinites can lead safe and happy lives. Together, we will decide Wisconsin’s future.
