Planned Parenthood Empire State Votes PAC: Electing candidates who stand with Planned Parenthood and fight for our health and rights.

If the past five years have taught us one thing it’s that who our leaders are matter; and that we have the power to choose leaders who will stand with us to protect our rights to access necessary health care and work with us to improve access to this care.

It became painfully clear during the COVID-19 pandemic and that we need leaders who are committed to protecting our health and safety; and who will not back down in the face of opposition to a choice that is right but may be unpopular. The past year has also shown that in the face of incredible hardship and uncertainty that we will make our voices heard and elect leaders that represent our values.

In 2019, with the passage of the Reproductive Health Act (RHA) we made it known that New York `will be place where the constitutional right to an abortion is protected by law. In 2020 we showed our support for the lawmakers that stood beside us to protect this right. Despite the challenges and concerns around the election amidst the pandemic, advocates like you showed up in however you could, virtually or in-person, to help us build on our wins in 2018 to usher in a pro-reproductive health super-majority in the New York State Senate.

During the following legislative session, we worked with our champions  to advance and pass legislation that to ensure that our patients and New Yorkers had the ability to access the health care they needed during the pandemic and secured funding for abortion-providers who were forced out of the federal Title X program under a hostile administration.

Despite the strides that we have made since, more abortion restrictions have been enacted in the US this year than any other year. While we have legislatively protected the right to obtain an abortion, there is still more to do to make sure that this right is accessible. In the 2022 election we must boldly support our lawmakers who have stood with us and have shown that they will remain committed to our goal of health care equity and bodily autonomy for all.

We are fighting for a world where everyone has access to health care and control of their bodies, their lives, and their futures. Join us. Donate to the PPESV PAC today.

OUR ACTION PLAN

The stakes have never been higher. We must use this election year to maximize Planned Parenthood’s power, fighting to protect our Champions in the legislature that support freedom, opportunity and equality. Over the coming months leading up to election day, PPESV PAC will:

1. Conduct an in-depth analysis to identify target districts across the state where we can play an effective role in supporting pro-reproductive rights candidates.

2. Use this information to provide the necessary support to both defend vulnerable seats held by legislators who have supported our mission and convert seats held by those who have not.

3. Leverage our statewide reach, and experience working with legislators to frame discussions with voters regarding advocacy for reproductive freedom throughout the election cycle.

You can help us win. Support our PAC today!
