CHICAGO - Planned Parenthood Illinois Action condemns Gov. Eric Holcomb for signing Senate Bill 480 today, which bans gender affirming care for minors in Indiana.

Below is a statement by Jennifer Welch, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Illinois Action

“As one of the largest providers of gender-affirming care in Illinois we know first-hand the devastating impact on patients when they are denied care where they live. This is especially true for young people. Medical decisions for minors should be between the patient, their parents or caregivers and the medical provider - not politicians.  Planned Parenthood of Illinois proudly offers gender-affirming care at all of our health centers and through telehealth so we can provide care no matter a patient’s zip code.”
