CHICAGO—The Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Illinois Action (PPIA), the non-partisan political and advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood in Illinois, proudly announces its endorsements for the June primary election. Candidates were selected based on their reproductive health care policies and their commitment to protecting the health and rights of all Illinoisans. “With access to abortion care hanging by a thread, it’s more important than ever that Illinois remain a haven state in the Midwest,” said Kelley Foxx, PPIA Board Chair. “We are supporting these candidates not only because they are advocates for Planned Parenthood, but because they also work tirelessly to amplify the voices of women, men, transgender, and nonbinary folks across race, class, and generations. We are at a crossroads in our democracy and it is imperative that we choose the right direction for the Illinois General Assembly, Secretary of State, and Illinois Supreme Court.”
