LD 1478: Fund family planning

This bill would fund family planning services essential to the wellbeing of Mainers and under constant attacks by extremists. Maine family planning providers are often the first and only health care provider a patient may see in a year due to lack of insurance or low income. Maine family planning providers are committed to seeing all patients regardless of their ability to pay and are an integral part of the state’s safety net.  Across the health care industry, the cost to deliver care has risen dramatically. But unlike other health care providers, we must also devote time and resources to fighting political battles. This bill would keep our doors open.

Tell your legislators that family planning matters!

LD 2203: Over-the-counter birth control

This bill will require insurance coverage of over-the-counter hormonal birth control, has advanced in both chambers! We are optimistic this bill will pass soon, which will mean more Mainers will have access to this method of contraception through insurance coverage.
