Portland Movie Night: Little Woods

In partnership with SPACE Gallery and Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, we're screening Little Woods! Starring Tessa Thompson and Lily James, the plot of Little Woods hinges on an unintended pregnancy and the difficulty of getting an abortion in rural, impoverished North Dakota. Following the film, we'll talk about the barriers to accessing abortion in Maine and across the country, as well as current efforts to protect reproductive rights.

Tickets are free but space is limited. Register today!

Sex Ed Story Night

Let's talk about sex, baby! It’s another fun, laugh filled story slam! 

This month a panel of storyteller-performers will reflect on their experiences with sex, sexuality, and their education - either formal or informal - around sex, identity, and relationships.

When: Tuesday, June 25th at 6 p.m.

Where: Rising Tide Brewing Company, 103 Fox Street, Portland


June is LGBT Pride month and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the event that sparked the modern LGBTQ rights movement. PPMEAF will be participating in Pride events across the state:

Bangor Movie Night: Ask Dr. Ruth

Size doesn't matter. For the first Bangor PP movie night of the summer, we're watching Ask Dr. Ruth, the award-winning documentary about Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a Holocaust survivor who became America's most famous sex therapist!

Bangor Movie Night: RBG

Hero. Icon. Dissenter. Recently named the real-life hero at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to reign as a pop cultur icon. She's also a brilliant jurist, Supreme Court Judge, and trailblazing feminist. This acclaimed documentary explores her life and her career. Bring your own "I dissent" collars.

Bangor Movie Night: Knock Down the House

The new documentary follows the 2018 primary campaigns for four Democratic women seeking to unseat incumbent members of Congress: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, Amy Vilela in Nevada, Cori Bush in Missouri, and Paula Jean Swearengin in West Virginia. Ready to run?

Bangor Movie Night: HΘMΣCΘMING A Film by Beyoncé

Written, directed and executive produced by Beyoncé herself, HΘMΣCΘMING is an intimate, in-depth look at Beyoncé's 2018 Coachelle performances, revealing the emotional road from creative concept to a cultural movement.
