Following a series of sexual assault allegations against Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund and allied organizations hosted candlelight vigils and community reflections Thursday evening in Portland and Bangor.

Statement from Nicole Clegg, Vice President of Public Policy for the Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund:

“History will remember how we respond to this hearing. This is our chance as a community to change this story from one filled with blame, shame, and judgement to one that respects and supports survivors — and serves as a catalyst to end sexual violence in our country.

“When future generations look back at this watershed moment, they will see that we came together as a community, as a country, and stood with survivors and with each other.”
