Why did you choose to intern with Planned Parenthood?

I chose Planned Parenthood because it is an organization I strongly support and believe in. I am also planning on getting my Master’s in Public Health and knew this would be a great opportunity to get involved with an organization dedicated to providing health services to all that come through their doors.

What was your favorite thing about your internship?

Volunteering at Progress on the Prairie was such a neat experience. It was inspiring to see so many people from the community come out and support Planned Parenthood. I also really enjoyed tabling on campus. It was awesome to see students come up to our table, ask questions, and show their support.

If you could give advice to a future intern, what would it be?

My advice to future interns is to jump right in, and make connections with other organizations to set up tabling options. It might feel awkward at first but the students really appreciate the tabling and a ton of people support Planned Parenthood, so there’s nothing to be afraid of!

What do you want people to know about Planned Parenthood?

I want people to know that those who work at Planned Parenthood love their jobs and they are there for you!

Why did you choose to intern with Planned Parenthood?

I chose to intern with Planned Parenthood because it is a great company and sexual & reproductive freedom is a right no one should have to fight for.

What was your favorite thing about your internship?

I really loved the #PinkOut. It was really fun to get awareness out in downtown Fargo. I learned a lot about politics & remembered some skills from my civics class way back in High School about how a bill becomes a law.

If you could give advice to a future intern, what would it be?

Have fun & be positive. If you are unsure about something direct them to the Planned Parenthood website or give them a business card because you don't want to give out the wrong information.

What do you want people to know about Planned Parenthood?

You are in control of your own body and Planned Parenthood can help you with any hard decision you have, no matter what.

Why did you choose to intern with Planned Parenthood?

I chose to do an internship with Planned Parenthood as a way to extend PP’s message towards the western side of the state, where Planned Parenthood doesn’t have as much of a voice.

What was your favorite thing about your internship?

My favourite thing about the internship was running the Women’s Network and making connections with other women in my community!

If you could give advice to a future intern, what would it be?

Plan early in the year and establish your event locations; ask for help when needed and seek out support from others when needed.

What do you want people to know about Planned Parenthood?

Planned Parenthood does so much more than provide abortion services! Planned Parenthood is an excellent way to connect with people in your community if you join the organization. They also are an amazing community resource to access for all kinds of services!
