This week both the United States Congress and the North Dakota state legislature ushered in a new session and we can expect renewed anti-choice efforts attacking reproductive health and access to abortion care.  Join us in January at any (or all) of these amazing events.

 

January 6, 2017 – Feminist First Friday

Feminist First Friday is a monthly gathering of North Dakota Women’s Network members and friends all across the state during Happy Hour organized for leisurely discussion of mutual interests regarding social, political, and economic issues. If you are out of town, look for other gatherings in Bismarck, Dickinson, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot, and Valley City.

January 7, 2017 - Solidarity Saturday

Solidarity Saturdays are informal gatherings of multiple organizations and individuals in North Dakota to talk about our shared concerns and celebrations throughout the North Dakota legislative session. Join meet-ups in Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks on the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. – noon.

In the weeks ahead, volunteers and activists are needed to fight back against attacks on Planned Parenthood. Phone banking is necessary in order ask community members to pledge their support for Planned Parenthood and to call Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to let him know that most Americans do not support defunding efforts. Join us from 6 – 8 p.m. at our Planned Parenthood North Dakota office. Please bring your own laptop and/or cell phone if possible – however, we can provide these items if needed. Pizza and beverages will be provided.

January 16, 2017 - Craftivism Series: Bracelets!

Planned Parenthood will be hosting a monthly craftivism series in Fargo, with the hope of (1) creating a safe-space to talk about concerns in our community and (2) developing plans for change while doing something fun and creative. We hope you can join us for a night of BRACELET making. All crafting supplies will be provided.

“Join us for decadent desserts, a silent auction, and cash bar...because choice is sweet!” Support the North Dakota WIN Abortion Access Fund at their annual fundraiser. Admission is $20 or $15 with a student ID. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted on all donation levels.

January 21, 2017 - Women’s March on Washington AND Bismarck!

“More than 200,000 people are expected to participate in a mass demonstration the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Women’s March on Washington. Although the largest march is expected to take place in Washington, cities nationwide are holding their own Women’s March rallies on January 21, 2017. Lucky you, there is even a march/rally scheduled in Bismarck!
