PLANNED PARENTHOOD PA ADVOCATES APPLAUDS HOUSE BILL PROTECTING ABORTION ACCESS
For Immediate Release: Nov. 15, 2023 (Updated: Nov. 15, 2023, 10:39 p.m.)
(Harrisburg, Pa.) — Planned Parenthood PA Advocates Executive Director Signe Espinoza today made the following statement regarding the PA House passage of HB1786, legislation to shield abortion patients and care providers from prosecution for receiving care.
“Everyone is entitled to make their own decisions about their health care, without fear of retribution or prosecution. This bill shields patients and providers from other states enforcing their extremism within our borders. We thank the State House for taking this step as other states have continued to pursue regressive, anti abortion policies instead.
“We look forward to continued work together in ensuring that every Pennsylvanian has access to abortion, and the full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health care, without obstacles or stigma.”
