(Horsham, Pa.) --- Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC’s coordinated campaign today reaffirmed its endorsement of Missy Cerrato in the Pennsylvania House District 151 race.

In previous years, PP PA PAC had endorsed the incumbent Todd Stephens.

Stephens has since sent his opponent a Cease and Desist letter insisting she stop talking about his record on abortion. Planned Parenthood feels uniquely qualified to weigh in here.

“We have been disappointed by Todd Stephens' tenure in the legislature, and we are further disappointed by his decision to sue his opponent for speaking the truth,” said PPPA Director of Coordinated Programs Lindsey Mauldin. “This year’s election is too important to settle for semi-consistent stances on sexual and reproductive health- specifically abortion issues. Representative Stephens has never sponsored a piece of proactive legislation that would improve access to reproductive health care. When the anti-abortion constitutional amendment came to a vote in July, he did not use his platform to convince others to vote no.”

PP PA PAC’s endorsement of Missy is not by default simply because of the failures of the incumbent.

“Missy is a leader. She is not afraid to talk about abortion and how it impacts all of us,” said Mauldin. “She would be a champion of proactive legislation in Harrisburg to protect and expand our access to sexual and reproductive health care.”
