Statement from Sari Stevens, Exec Director of Planned Parenthood PA Advocates
For Immediate Release: March 5, 2019 (Updated: March 5, 2019, 1:55 p.m.)
In 2004, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to join an organization I loved and respected to fight for and protect reproductive health care in Pennsylvania. While we’ve had many battles since then, we also have had a tremendous amount of success thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, supporters, and staff. Now it’s time for me to explore new opportunities, and it is bittersweet to announce that March 15 will be both my 15 year anniversary and my last day with this incredible organization.
Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates has been through a lot over the past 15 years. There have been times where our future felt uncertain. Now, we are in a better position than ever to ensure that access to safe, legal abortion is protected in Pennsylvania, thanks to our more than 450,000 supporters who have shown up in so many ways to advocate for Planned Parenthood.
I am thankful for my time at Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates, the friendships I’ve made, and all that we have accomplished together. I’ve had the honor to be surrounded by an amazing team of volunteers and staff, and I am confident leaving the organization in their capable hands as the search for a new executive director is carried out.
