Austin, TX — Today, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes announced its endorsement of Elizabeth Beck in Texas House District 97 and Natali Hurtado in Texas House District 126.

In order to earn PPTV’s endorsement, candidates must commit 100 percent to supporting reproductive health care access, including safe, legal abortion.

Statement from Dyana Limon-Mercado, Executive Director, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes

“With early voting for the March 3 Primary underway, we’re excited to announce our endorsement of Elizabeth Beck in Texas House District 97 and Natali Hurtado in Texas House District 126. We’re putting our full support behind Elizabeth and Natali, both working mothers committed to protecting access to the full spectrum of reproductive health care, including safe, legal abortion.

“Elizabeth, a veteran and lawyer, has been a vocal Planned Parenthood supporter and is currently a member of the Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas Fort Worth Community Board. Elizabeth will be an incredibly strong advocate for Planned Parenthood patients and health centers because she knows first-hand how much her community relies on access to nonjudgmental, high-quality and affordable health care services.

“Natali, a public policy professional and current deputy director of a local management district, became a single mother at the age of 19 and put herself through higher education -- and she is determined to fight for Texans with similar life experiences. She has made women’s equality - including reproductive health and rights - a key component of her platform.

“We need bold leaders, like Elizabeth and Natali, in the Texas House and flipping these seats will bring us closer to being able to defeat dangerous legislation that seeks to strip women of essential and lifesaving health care access. We’re urging Planned Parenthood supporters across the state to get out and vote early. Our health and rights depend on it.”
