PPVC Announces Endorsements for the Colorado Legislature

DENVER, CO– PPVC is excited to announce candidate endorsements for the legislature! All endorsed candidates received a 100% rating on PPVC’s 2016 survey and, if incumbents, hold pro-women’s health voting records in the legislature. PPVC endorses candidates who trust women to make their own health care decisions, and access to safe and legal abortion. These candidates also believe that women should have access to affordable birth control options and that comprehensive sex education in schools should be medically-based and age-appropriate.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund Honors the 51st Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act

NEW YORK, NY— Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund Action Fund, issued the below statement on the 51st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, taking place on Saturday, August 6. In 2013, the Supreme court decision Shelby County v. Holder gutted the Voting Rights Act, which heavily affected the electoral process for marginalized communities and people of color. We are better off when more people have a voice in our political process — we should be passing laws that make it easier to vote, not harder.

DENVER, CO– Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado is excited to announce endorsements of seven more candidates for the Colorado legislature: Matt Gray for HD 33 (Broomfield), Jeff Bridges for HD 3 (Southwest Denver), Tony Exum for HD 17 (Colorado Springs), Barbara McLachlan for HD 59 (Durango), Nancy Todd for SD 28 (Southeast Denver/Aurora), Tom Sullivan for SD 27 (Arapahoe County), and Daniel Kagan for SD 26 (Southwest Denver, Arapahoe County).
