Lashrecse Aird will win the Senate District 13 race to secure a pro-abortion rights majority in the Virginia State Senate and stop abortion bans from coming to Virginia

Richmond, Va. - Today, voters head to the polls for primaries across the Commonwealth. Voters in Virginia’s 13th Senate District will support Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia-endorsed candidate Lashrecse Aird over anti-abortion incumbent Joe Morrissey. Aird will build on her reputation as a Delegate who fiercely defended reproductive health care and rights against unnecessary restrictions and bans.

Statement from Jamie Lockhart, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia:

“Abortion rights are on the ballot in Virginia. Today voters will make their voices heard and once again prove that Americans overwhelmingly support protecting access to abortion.

Voters want candidates who will fight for their rights and stop Governor Youngkin from getting the votes he needs to enact an abortion ban. Virginians know that they can trust Lashrecse Aird and are fired up to send her to Richmond. They will send a resounding message to anti-abortion politicians across the commonwealth: Protect our rights, or we will vote you out.”

About Lashrecse Aird:

Lashrecse is an abortion rights champion who will fight for every Virginian’s access to the health care they deserve. She fought for affordable health care and the Reproductive Health Protection Act when serving in the House of Delegates, and she is ready to fight for us again.
