Issues and Legislation

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia's mission is to preserve and broaden access to reproductive health care through legislation, public education, electoral activity and litigation in the Commonwealth of Virginia. PPAV works to ensure that individuals and families have the freedom, information, and ability to make their own informed reproductive choices.

All people should have equal access to reproductive health care. And yet women of color, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ people (especially those whose identities intersect) are disproportionately impacted by restrictions on that care.

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia believes that the protection and expansion of access to birth control is essential to the autonomy and wellbeing of all individuals.

Every day, we work with our legislative allies, partner groups, and community members to defend reproductive rights for all.
