Founded in 1992, the Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization. As the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, we mobilize supporters of all parties to defend and increase access to family planning services and fact-based, medically-accurate sexuality education. We work to inspire and engage citizens to take up the cause of reproductive health and rights through education, electoral activity, grassroots organizing and legislative advocacy.
Our Work in Minnesota
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund in Minnesota works to expand access to family planning and reproductive health care for all Minnesotans, helps elect lawmakers who advocate for policies and programs that support reproductive freedom, and fights dangerous bills and regulations that limit access to care by attacking Planned Parenthood.
Our Electoral Plan
Minnesota is quickly becoming an island of sanity and a last refuge for women who need access to abortion in the upper Midwest. But Minnesota will only remain this way if we can stop politicians who oppose women’s rights. The Minnesota House of Representatives, ruled by opponents of women’s health, has made their agenda clear. This year, for the first time, they passed a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. In addition, they advanced six measures that would hinder women’s access to abortion. The only thing standing between them and achieving their agenda is the 2016 election.
All 201 state legislators are on the ballot in November. We will re-elect our women’s health champions to office in the Senate and put champions back into leadership in the House. We will also hold lawmakers who have opposed women’s health accountable by educating young women on their representatives’ records and getting them out to vote.
