Constituents Do Not Want Paulsen to Block Patients from Coming to Planned Parenthood

Wednesday March 15, 2017: Pillamina—a giant birth control pill pack—will deliver nearly 2000 petitions to Representative Paulsen’s District office.

BACKGROUND: On March 6, Republicans in Congress introduced the biggest threat to Planned Parenthood patients in its 100-year history. Tucked into the Affordable Care Act (ACA) repeal bill is a dangerous provision motivated by anti-abortion ideology that has no direct connection with the ACA or abortion. Instead, the provision is about blocking low-income people from preventive health care.

“Defund Planned Parenthood” is a misnomer.  This provision would actually block Medicaid patients from coming to Planned Parenthood. As we’ve seen in Texas, this would result in more unintended pregnancies, higher STD rates and more abortions.

WHAT: Nearly 2000 constituents in the 3rd Congressional District have spoken out to tell Representative Paulsen that they do not want to see patients blocked from coming to Planned Parenthood. Pillamina – the human-sized birth control pill pack – will be delivering their petitions to Rep. Paulsen.
