The Massachusetts legislature has demonstrated its commitment to reproductive health care by decisively passing a state budget section that will improve abortion access. But now Governor Baker has sent the budget provision back to the legislature — with an amendment that fully undermines efforts to safeguard young people and create more equitable abortion access.

Let your lawmakers know that you support improving abortion access in Massachusetts and making reproductive freedom a reality for all.

What to Say (Call Script)

Hi, my name is __________, and I live in ___________.

I'm calling to urge you to reject Governor Baker’s amendments to section 40, which will reduce and remove barriers to abortion care.

Prioritizing the passage of this section as written will ensure that abortion is accessible for everyone.

Massachusetts laws still uphold medically unnecessary barriers to care that delay and deny access to abortion. We have a mandate to change these unjust laws and improve access to abortion in our Commonwealth. As your constituent, I encourage you to dismantle these barriers and reject the amendments proposed by Governor Baker.

Thank you for considering these urgent, commonsense provisions.

[If they say “yes”] Thank you! Your leadership means a lot to me. I’m proud to be part of this movement with you.

Thank you for your time.
