About Us

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Action Fund (PPHPAF) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that advocates for social welfare and legislative issues that impact the patients of and the ability of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, the sexual and reproductive health care and education organization. The mission of PPHPAF is to protect reproductive freedom for all people in our region, by engaging in issue education, legislative advocacy, and voter education campaigns.

As the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, the Action Fund works in Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties engaging in education and electoral activities including issue education canvassing and phone banks, legislative advocacy with elected officials, and voter education campaigns with community members.

PPHPAF’s primary purpose is educating voters about public policies that impact sexual and reproductive health care and rights – such as adequate funding for family planning services, access to safe and affordable abortion, the promotion of medically accurate, age-appropriate sex education for our youth, increased access to emergency contraception, and confidential health services for minors.

We mobilize supporters in a large email network, turn people out to testify at public hearings, and table at community events. We use every opportunity to talk to people about voting. We work on social media, and through canvasses and phone banks, to get people thinking about and planning to vote – especially in groups! We want you to take five friends with you to the polls on Election Day.

PPHP Action Fund is a member of, and works in conjunction with, Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts and Planned Parenthood Action Fund on statewide and federal activities.
