The Republican candidates are in lock-step with election deniers and conspiracy theorists who are threats to our democracy

Las Vegas, NV — This Saturday, October 8th, former president Donald Trump will campaign with Republican senatorial candidate Adam Laxalt and gubernatorial candidate Joe Lombardo in northern Nevada. Throughout his presidency and the following years, Donald Trump has openly stoked fear and hatred, and cast doubt on the very democratic systems that elected him in the first place.

As we continue to deal with the aftermath of the Trump presidency, including his legacy of appointing hundreds of anti-abortion judges which led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Adam Laxalt and Joe Lombardo campaigning with the former president  represents a pivotal point in the trajectory of our state.

Statement from Lindsey Harmon, Executive Director, Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada:

“Adam Laxalt and Joe Lombardo thoroughly embracing former President Trump on the campaign trail speaks volumes of the kind of rhetoric and policies they’re willing to get behind. Trump, Laxalt, and Lombardo support extreme anti-abortion policies, traffic in racism and xenophobia, and share a general disregard for American democracy and the will of the people.

Aligning themselves with the former president shows Nevadans, once again, who they truly are: Politicians bent on political expediency, empty promises, and moral compromises at the expense of the people they claim to represent in order to gain political power. The choice this November is clear. Nevadans must re-elect Catherine Cortez Masto and Steve Sisolak, proven reproductive health care champions with a record of putting Nevadans first.”
