Legislative Priorities

In 2019, our top priority was to make sure family planning and reproductive health care are accessible and affordable for all Nevadans:

● $3 million a year for the state-funded family planning grant program (SB94, Budget 3224)

● Enhanced Medicaid rates for safety-net family planning providers (Specialty Clinic 17)

● Allow Community Health Workers and Promotoras to bill Medicaid

Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada will always stand up to protect access to safe and legal abortion.

We support the Trust Women Act

● We oppose the administration’s efforts to roll back women’s access to the abortion care they need

History of Choice in Nevada

In 1990, Nevadans overwhelmingly voted YES on Question 7, a ballot referendum that codified Roe v. Wade into state law (NRS 442.250). Nevada is one of the few states to have language protecting a woman’s right to choose that is not subject to legislative amendment or repeal. Nevada is a pro-reproductive rights state.
