Planned Parenthood Action Fund Endorses Reproductive Health Champion(s) Dina Titus, Steven Horsford, and Susie Lee to Represent Nevada in U.S HOUSE
For Immediate Release: Oct. 11, 2019
Reno, NV — Today, Planned Parenthood Action Fund announced its endorsement of Dina Titus (D- CD 1), Steven Horsford (D- CD 4) and Susie Lee (D- CD 3) to protect the health and rights of Nevada. This announcement is part of the Action Fund’s largest-ever endorsement wave of federal candidates committed to reproductive health and rights around the country.
QUOTE FROM LINDSEY HARMON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PLANNED PARENTHOOD VOTES NEVADA:
“We are thrilled with Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s endorsement of Dina Titus, Steven Horsford, and Susie Lee. People across Nevada want their elected officials to stand up to the Trump administration’s attacks that put our health, rights, and freedoms at risk. Dina Titus, Steven Horsford, and Susie Lee have shown their exemplary commitment to protecting and expanding reproductive health care and rights time and time again during their time in Congress. With over 15,000 patients relying on Planned Parenthood health centers for reproductive health care in Nevada, we need champions like them to fight for access to care in the Congress.”
This year, 26 abortion bans have passed in states across the country, meaning that people are having to cross state lines or wait long times just to access basic care. In states like Nevada, where the right to safe, legal abortion is protected, electing reproductive health care champions is vital to the continuation of a long legacy of protecting those rights. In 2018, the American people sent more women and women of color to Congress than ever before and flipped the House of Representatives to a clear pro-reproductive health majority. In 2020, there is a clear opportunity to flip the Senate and have a full Congress that will protect people’s health and rights.
This announcement marks only the beginning of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s endorsements in 2020 federal electoral races — with many more to come.
