Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations launch $50 million 2022 electoral program

NEVADA — Today, Nevada was named as one of the initial target nine states in Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations’ 2022 electoral program. This morning, as first reported in the Associated Press, Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations launched the 2022 electoral program “Take Control,” which represents the groups’ largest ever investment in a campaign cycle. The $50 million program will help elect champions for sexual and reproductive health care and rights up and down the ballot and all across the country.

In Nevada, Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada will focus on re-electing Governor Steve Sisolak, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, and reproductive health care champions up and down the ballot to ensure that Nevada remains a state where abortion rights are protected, and access is improved.

Statement from Lindsey Harmon, Executive Director, Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada:

“Though we are lucky to have the right to abortion protected in Nevada statute, we know that our reproductive freedoms are still on the ballot. Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada knows what’s at stake for Nevadans and will invest resources, time, and boots on the ground to re-elect Governor Steve Sisolak and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. With less than 100 days until Election Day, we will work overtime to ensure that voters know who they can trust to protect their health and rights at the ballot box.”

In the coming weeks, Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada will officially launch our electoral campaign with more details about our goals, program, and tactics. Please contact Alexa Solis, communications director at Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada, for more information.

The other eight states which Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations plan to target include Georgia, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Arizona, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Local Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations will also be active in Colorado, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Florida. In sum, the program will reach 5-6 million voters across the country.
