The five-digit ad buy for Receipts focuses on GOP presidential candidates’ support for a national abortion ban

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Planned Parenthood Votes launched Receipts, the organization’s first paid ad buy of the 2024 cycle. The video features a compilation of clips from Mike Pence, Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Tim Scott talking about their support for a national abortion ban. The ad is running on national social media platforms and in Wisconsin, where the RNC is hosting its first GOP presidential debate this week. There is currently no access to abortion in Wisconsin.

Jenny Lawson, the executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes, released a statement about the ad:

“Make no mistake: No matter how the GOP presidential candidates try to spin their extreme anti-abortion views on the debate stage, they all support a national abortion ban. We have the receipts and we’re bringing them directly to voters. There's nowhere to hide. Planned Parenthood Votes will make sure everyone knows how out-of-touch and eager they are to take away our health care and rights.”

According to a recent CNN poll, abortion rights will continue to be a defining issue in 2024.

Transcript:

Republicans running for president have pledged to pass a national abortion ban.

Abortion should be left to a patient and their doctor —  Nearly eight in ten Americans agree.

Pence: “Every Republican candidate for president should support a ban on abortion.”

Trump: “We’re gonna get it done. I know the issue very well — I think I know the issue better than most and we will get that taken care of.”

DeSantis: “I will be a pro-life president. So, I mean of course, I want to sign pro-life legislation.”

Haley: “…if there’s something where they've come together on consensus, yes of course I would sign it.”

Tim Scott: “I would sign the most conservative pro-life legislation you can bring to my desk.”

They’ll all stop at nothing to take away our power to control our personal health care decisions.

We’re fighting back. Are you with us?
