WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Kari Lake officially announced her candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat in Arizona. Lake has a dangerous and unpopular record on abortion and supports Arizona’s current 15-week abortion ban. Kelley Dupps, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona, released the following statement:

“Kari Lake is a conspiracy theorist who thrives on lying to voters and will say anything to get elected. In her failed gubernatorial bid last year, we saw Lake use evasive, confusing, and vague language to muddy the waters on her position on abortion — all in an attempt to hide her extreme agenda. It didn’t work then, and it won’t work now as she set her sights on the U.S. Senate.

“Make no mistake: Lake is an active threat to Arizonans’ health and safety and is deeply out of touch with the majority of voters who want abortion to remain legal. Kari Lake has no business holding any elected office. Planned Parenthood Votes helped defeat her once, and we look forward to making sure Kari Lake loses another national election.”
