New ad, “Typical Politician” highlights how Arizonans can’t trust McSally to advocate for their health care

Phoenix, AZ — Today, Planned Parenthood Votes announced a new digital video advertisement in Arizona, highlighting U.S. Sen. Martha McSally’s alarming record on health care, including sexual and reproductive health.

The new advertisement, “Typical Politician,” highlights how McSally spent her career attacking access to care. It shows McSally’s record advocating for abortion bans, voting to jeopardize coverage for the 709,000 Arizonans living with pre-existing conditions, and her support for defunding Planned Parenthood health centers in Arizona -- which offer services like birth control, STI test, and cancer screenings.

The digital advertisement is a part of Planned Parenthood Votes’ $2.6 million investment in Arizona. The electoral program, announced last month, will contact voters to elect Mark Kelly and other reproductive rights champions, help people get involved in further outreach in support of these Arizona champions, and build on their power for the upcoming election.

Statement from Kelley Dupps, Planned Parenthood Votes spokesperson in Arizona:

“Senator McSally is a typical politician who puts party loyalty and big money donors above the health care of the people she represents. Her record proves that she will only work to take away Arizonans’ access to essential sexual and reproductive health care. Arizonans have a champion in Mark Kelly, who will fight nonstop to protect our health care because he understands the stakes for reproductive rights in the Grand Canyon State.”

Martha McSally has spent her career trying to take away Arizonans’ rights to health care.

She said she would support banning most abortions.

She voted multiple times to eliminate protections for Arizonans with pre-existing conditions.

And she votes eight times to deny critical funding to Planned Parenthood health centers, jeopardizing access to affordable birth control, STI tests, and cancer screenings.

Martha McSally can’t be trusted to fight for us.

This November, say no to McSally.
