WASHINGTON — In response to Donald Trump’s latest falsehood on abortion, Planned Parenthood Votes Executive Director Jenny Lawson released the following:

“We all know that Trump cannot be trusted and will say whatever it takes to get back into the White House — that includes lying about his support for a national abortion ban. Trump is proud of his role in overturning Roe, which led to abortion bans in 21 states and counting. It's not a secret that his allies already have an entire playbook to take down not only abortion, but also birth control and IVF, using every lever they can — without approval from Congress. If given the chance, Trump will sign every anti-abortion law they put in front of him.

"Abortion rights are supported by an overwhelming majority of the public  — and in fact, 8 in 10 Americans still believe that decisions about abortion should be between a patient and their doctor. In the 2022 and 2023 elections, voters clearly rejected anti-abortion policies as well as  candidates who lied about their abortion stances. They’ll do the same with Donald Trump and his cronies in 2024.”
