Planned Parenthood Affiliates in Missouri Win Protections Against Medically Unnecessary Abortion Restrictions
Comprehensive Health of Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) and Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region (PPSLR) celebrate today’s federal court opinion, which blocks medically unnecessary restrictions against abortion providers in Missouri.
Statement from Presidents and CEOs of Comprehensive Health of PPGP, Laura A. McQuade, and Reproductive Health Services of PPSLR, Mary M. Kogut
“Comprehensive Health of Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) and Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLR) are strongly encouraged by Judge Howard Sachs’ memo indicating his intention to grant a preliminary injunction against the unconstitutional and medically unnecessary abortion restrictions in Missouri. Judge Sachs was clear in his memo that these laws are unconstitutional and only seek to block access to safe, legal abortion. We look forward to working with the court and the state to expand access to safe, legal abortion in the state as soon as possible.”
