What's At Stake

Access to safe, legal abortion is on the line in this election. It’s time to take control of our future.

Michelle Lujan Grisham (D)

A proven champion for reproductive rights, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed legislation to repeal New Mexico's abortion ban and has worked to protect access to reproductive health care services in New Mexico.

“Today we have once again declared that we will take every available action to protect the rights and access to health care of anyone in New Mexico. As long as I am governor, abortion will continue to be legal, safe, and accessible in New Mexico.

Michelle Lujan Grisham, June 27, 2022
  • As Governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham made history by repealing New Mexico's 50-year old criminal abortion ban, cementing New Mexico's status as a safe haven for reproductive health care in the Southwest.

  • In 2022, signed an executive order to protect abortion providers who help out-of-state patients access care.

  • She also expanded Medicaid coverage for post-partum care, and signed legislation repealing the "tampon tax".

Mark Ronchetti (R)

Mark Ronchetti's anti-abortion views are too exteme for New Mexico. As Governor, he would mount an all-out attack on our power to control our bodies and lives.

Life should be protected at all stages

Take Control: Commit to Vote

The Supreme Court didn’t act alone when it overturned Roe. Well-funded anti-abortion rights politicians made it their mission to take away our rights.

Politicians hostile to reproductive rights, including many lawmakers on the ballot in November, have engaged in a decades-long, coordinated effort to control our bodies and our futures.

I pledge to use my voice and my vote this November, because I want to Take Control. When we all show up, we can take back  power to control our bodies, our lives, and our futures.
